Acceptable Use Policy
What's allowed (and what isn't) on TentPole.

1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service. Violations may result in account suspension, termination, and legal action.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not upload, post, transmit, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory
- Infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Is sexually explicit or includes minors in inappropriate contexts
- Promotes violence, terrorism, or self-harm
- Misrepresents identity or affiliation
- Is deceptive or fraudulent
- Spams or floods communication channels
3. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service
- Bypass authentication, rate limits, or security controls
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without written permission
- Interfere with other users' use of the Service
- Stress-test, load-test, or denial-of-service the Service
- Resell or sublicense Service access without authorization
- Use the Service to compete with TentPole's core business
- Probe for vulnerabilities outside of an authorized security disclosure
4. Prohibited Industries
Tentpole may not be used to process payments for or facilitate:
- Firearms, ammunition, weapons
- Controlled substances, marijuana, CBD products
- Adult content, escort services, sexually explicit goods
- Gambling, betting, lottery, sweepstakes
- Cryptocurrency exchange, ICOs, NFT minting
- Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes
- Illegal goods or services
- Any activity prohibited by our payment processors (currently PayPal)
This list may be updated. TentPole's decision is final.
5. Communications and Messaging
When using messaging features:
- Do not send unsolicited promotional content (spam)
- Honor opt-out requests immediately
- Comply with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR ePrivacy, and similar laws
- Do not impersonate TentPole or its employees
6. Vendor Application Conduct
Vendors:
- Submit accurate applications with truthful business info
- Honor organizer terms once accepted
- Provide goods/services as represented
- Maintain required licenses, insurance, and permits
Organizers:
- Review applications fairly and without unlawful discrimination
- Communicate decisions in a reasonable timeframe
- Honor the booth terms you publish
- Process refunds per your published policy
7. AI Feature Use
- Review AI-generated content before sending
- Do not use AI features to generate prohibited content (above)
- Do not bypass AI rate limits or quotas
- Do not present AI output as professional legal, medical, or financial advice
8. Reporting Violations
If you witness a violation, email abuse@thetentpole.com with details.
9. Enforcement
TentPole may, at its sole discretion:
- Remove violating content
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Block IP addresses or devices
- Report to law enforcement
- Pursue civil remedies
Severe violations may result in immediate termination without notice. We are not obligated to refund fees in cases of AUP violation.
10. Updates
This AUP may be updated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
